10th Birthday Celebrations

The Lodge was the perfect venue for our Residents, staff and owners to come together and celebrate Wivenhoe Village’s 10th Birthday milestone. From the elegant sounds of the quartet playing out on the deck to the cuisine, company and everyone going to such an effort in donning their formalwear.

So many smiles and laughter filling the room, some heading out to the deck for a dance.

It’s been a great 10 years and we look forward to the next 10.

Below is a reflection by our Village Manager, Kristy.

“When I think back 10 years ago (yes, I have been here that long and well due long service leave) my memory is of red dust, white boundary pegs and earth moving vehicles. It was a hive of activity with contractors on site carving out roads and infrastructure and before we knew it, homes started to pop up out of the ground in Foxglove St.

We were so lucky to have a group of people who had the foresight to see past all of that to the vision that was Wivenhoe Village. I recall that journey well – the focus groups we held at the Wivenhoe homestead to garner what our client market wanted from retirement living and bus trips to Berry as a ‘here’s one we prepared earlier’ for those considering the move.

They were exciting times, being part of building not just homes but our community. All the socials happened in the display home as we didn’t have the Lodge – happy hour, morning teas, new client introductions, overnight stays and eventually our office in the garage at number 2 Marigold St!

Our team started to grow with the Village, and over the next 5 years we saw The Lodge completed, 149 homes occupied and Wivenhoe becoming an Award-winning Village. It’s been an exciting journey so far.”
